Growth spurt?

I posted yesterday about how long my LO is eating at a time.. about 6-8 min. Well last night and today she is wanting to only eat for like 5 min, if I'm lucky. Wanting to eat about every 2-3 hours. And she is sleeping most of the time in between.

Is this possibly a growth spurt? She is 2w2d old. She is sleeping more than usual but eating less. This doesn't seem right. She is still peeing and pooping normally.

I hope she goes back to eating longer periods again soon because she's making me nervous.

Re: Growth spurt?

  • Have you tried keeping her awake during feedings?  Is she difficult to wake at other times?  If she's impossible to keep awake/wake up, I consider it worth mentioning to the pediatrician.  My inclination is to say that she's perhaps a really efficiant eater.  During growth spurts, my LO ends up feeding more frequently and for longer periods.  Then again, he's one to hang out at the boob feeding for half an hour before he detatches.

Even when I keep her awake during feedings she does this. And when she does fall asleep and I wake her up right away she doesn't wanna eat anymore.
